Part 2 of My Thoughts on the New American Girl Stuff. Brace yourself for a loooong post. American Girl just released a new mix and match set, and since I didn't want a really long post, we only have some of the stuff. But first you have to prepare your self for the unthinkable: A boy doll in American GIRL! Keep on reading if you want my opinion on the new AG stuff.
Truly ME #76-
At first glance he isn't to terrible. But if you squint and tilt your head, you'll see some unlikable features. First, the hair isn't cut like the boys today is. He looks more like a ten year old then a mature teenager. I haven't seen them in real life, but I think the hair might be over hair sprayed. So the hair is stiff, not fluffy. (Is fluffy the right word to use?) His meet outfit isn't bad, but the other outfits aren't 10-10. But it is a good buy for a person that isn't to sure of them selves making their own boy doll. So if you aren't sure you won't fail making a custom boy doll, then this dude is for you. Overall, I think American should have just dropped the idea to boy dolls, or at least remodel them a bit.
Everyday Accessories-
These are the accessories you should buy if you're getting a boy doll. At least that's what AG said. Frankly, I think this set is perfect for my girl dolls. I don't have any cons about this set. It comes with quiet a lot and is fairly priced. You get a backpack, hoodie, headphones, water bottle, phone, and money. That is a lot.
Star Spangled Fan Gear-
I'm not an american, but this outfit instantly caught my eye. I really like this outfit and it's so cute. The sunglasses and hat and sneakers are so cute. So is the shirt, but I'm really liking the pants. I can't think of something that would match the red pants, but the rest of the outfit is so so so cute.
Sun & Fun outfit-
I don't really like this outfit to much. To be honest, this looks like something a old guy would wear on vacation. The flip flops and hat are nice, but the rest is to 80s for my taste. Comment down below if this looks like an old guy outfit.
Sunny day dress-
I really like this dress, but it's on the pricey side. I know Julie-Ann would look super cute in it, since that's Julie-Ann modeling it. The design on the bottom of the dress is palm tree leaves or flowers, I can;t really tell. But American Girl did a good job making this dress. If I had to chose, I'd totally buy it.
Dino-mite outfit-
Again, we're going back to the ten year old look. In fact, it even looks like something I saw my little cousin who's 5 would wear. I think American Girl should have a older teenager look for the boys. Maybe sweatshirts or something like that. I know all I've said about the boy stuff is bad, but I think American Girl should remake the boy line for teenagers in the modern era.
Explore the outdoors outfit-
This outfit comes with tons of cute things. First of all, the shoes are super cute and they'd look really nice in a photo shoot. The shorts are sweet and simple. But the shirt, that is so awesome. The print on it is just so, I don't know the word. Maybe stunning. the combo of the green hoodie and shirt is perfect. This totally is on my wish list.
Chameleon Terrarium Set-
This would look cute in a room and could complete the homey look, but it's a lot of money for 3 things. The tank itself could make a good prop for a stop-motion, but the spray and food is more for show. All in all, it's a cute set but I wouldn't get it.
Sea Glass tank-
This tank top is cute and simple. The ruffles are a nice touch and I don't really have to say much about it.
Ombre Waves Skirt-
The skirt is nice and all, but the pink sequin thing along the bottom a little out of place. I like the idea of ombre, but the sequins look like they were added at last minute.
Seashore Stripe Skirt-
I'm in love with this skirt. I have vision of a photo shoot with Jasmin wearing this skirt. Comment down below if you can relate to that. I can't think of any thoughts about this.
Gold glitter boots-
You know how Isabelle came out with those gold glittery shoes, these remind me of those. In fact, I could probably buy these and use them instead of the gold glittery shoes. I'm happy that American girl is coming out with a wack load of single pairs of shoes.
Cool Treats high Tops-
I'm really happy about these sneakers. I need more runners for my dolls and these are ideal for my dolls. They can't live off of flats forever. Even without getting them, I recommend them to any doll collector.
Knit Rhinestone Beanie-
I already have the sequin beanie, and I don't really use it that much. But this hat looks so cute and adollable. (Get the pun? I know, it's really cheesy) I'm not sure I'd get it, but I'd consider it.
Shark baseball cap-
I love baseball caps! But I have so many hats and my dolls don't wear them that much. But this would be perfect for Tammy, my tomboy doll. The mesh stuff in the back looks very realistic. So it's on my wish list.
That's all I have to review. To be honest, this is only half the stuff that American Girl released. There was still a bunch of new stuff from Truly Me, Tenny, and Wellie wishers. I don't own a wellie wisher or plan to, so I didn't feel the urge to review those items.
