Shadows Writing Days 1-11 +Snippets

The long awaited snippets have arrived! Let's all celebrate guys! *cheers and waves hands in the air*
Half of you are dancing in your seat while the other half are cringing and hovering the mouse over the red X.

I finally started writing my novel, In a Flash, on March 20. All the Scene Outlining and Character Arcs have paid off.

So without further ado, I present: The Snippets!!!!!!!!!!!

“Very funny. I’m laughing really hard.” He answered flatly

I love love love writing in Hotisi's lines!!!!

"We don't need any fighting on the mission. Killing anyone won't make the job any easier." He reasoned."Who said anything about killing? I was just going to maim her," Hotisi teased.

Again with my wonderful Hotisi...

"You heard the man! Let's get rolling," Hora snapped. "I don't want to spend more time in here then needed!"That was no man, that was only a 17 year old irresponsible boy.

You would never believe who that was.

I spent the day editing 2687 words and making covers for all 3 books. It took me forever and I got distracted a lot.

Now that I'm out of that place, I can put my plan to action. I could finally give back to Japan and give those peasants a taste of their own medicine. Japan had only seen my nice side, not the bad side of me. I chuckled and stroked my beard at the sight of those commoners trembling when they see me.

First time writing in my Antagonist's POV! (aka, Ti-su)

I sighed and turned around. "Hotisi, I've realized that your jokes are a way to hide the fact that you're actually impressed." I crossed my arms across my chest.

I was invited to a sleepover, so I didn't get much done

I walked towards the dining room while Motishu stopped to pry the arrow out of the wall of the office. “Hiraoka! Come back here!” He guesterd to the arrow lodged in the wood, “Can you explain this?”I nodded, “That happens when your office is the buffer for stray arrows.” I walked away with a smile on my face.

For some reason I love what Erin says back to Motishu. I don't know why. XD

I didn't come home till 9:45 PM, and I needed to catch up on my lack of sleep

How could these people put up with this behavior. I walked towards Motishu and looked him straight in the eye. He raised his eyebrows and looked at me. “Another person trying to defy my position? And this time it’s a women, that’s brave.”

Writing in Airi's POV! Airi is my dauntless, throw caution to the wind kind of girl.

“How are you going to be a ninja? You care too much. When you knock a man down, what do you do?” I quizzed Chou. She pondered it for a bit, “Well, I’d say sorry and probably help him up.” Hotisi groaned and Erin hit her head on the table.

Poor Chou, she never knew the real meaning of what ninja do

Hotisi clapped his hand against his chest. “You wound me Erin. I thought you enjoyed hanging out with me.”

Again it's lovely Erin with her lovely friend Hotisi. They just love hanging out together.

How am I going to find Airi if I can’t leave? My heart felt like the sheets of Airi’s bed. Torn and ripped up. Is a friendship worth the rest of my life? I asked myself. Then I knew what to do. I stood and headed for the door. I wasn’t getting sleep tonight. I had a retrieval to plan for.

Poor Erin, I literally felt so bad for her writing this part. But man, is she loyal or what?

I was glad that it was Hotisi and not some half-crazed bounty hunter. But I was never going to admit it. Not yet at least.“I thought you were some half-crazed bounty hunter.” He admitted, “Why is there blood all over your face?”

They always say great minds think alike. And is that Erin and Hotisi together? And does Hotisi sound concerned?

"You can be the knight in shining armor who as sword skills. Wait, last time you dropped the sword and cut open your leg. I'll be the knight."

I love Erin's quick wit and humor. Writing her POV again!!!

I was almost falling asleep during Motishu's talk about the emperor’s. Airi was asking why we were learning about them if we were always attacking and attempting to assassinate them. He got steaming mad and sent her out of the class. That was the only time I was jealous of a women.

Hotisi is jealous of a women! It may seem mean to women, but back then women weren't allowed to be ninja.

I know I wrote for over 12 days, but I didn't write everyday. I'm not allowed on electronics on Sundays (expect my camera) so that rules out a lot of writing time. And I have Trying To Trust to work on, I upload a video on my YouTube channel every week, and I have school to go to everyday.
It's hard to take time out of my day to write. And I'm probably dying of sleep loss.
The only time to write is at night, so I stay up till 12 or 1 in the morning writing.

He trembled and shook his head. Saeru pushed the hovering fist away from his face. A crow cawed beside me and a dog growled down the road. "Exactly. Now get out of here before I hurt you. I'm trained to kill and can think of 20 ways to injure you with my fist. So go away and stay away." I threatened.

This is Erin having fun with an old friend.

And now that school started again, I wake up at 5:50 AM everyday to get on the bus. So I'm going to dead tired the next day. I don't recommend staying up late to write.

“Oh. And are you two engaged or something?” I blushed and Erin’s cheeks turned red.

People think Erin and Hotisi are in love??? Could they???

"Or it finally happened." A smile broke across the men's faces. "A toast." They lifted their cups and tapped them together. "To us and the great future ahead."They took a sip as a scream rang out from inside the room.

I really like how this scene came out. I think it shows some foreshadowing, which I suck at.

"I wasn’t just going to let you die. I'll always save you if I'm given a chance." His bright his twinkled with concern.I felt my heart melt with those words.

Itsn't that so sweet???? Hotisi and Erin together.

That was the last of the snippets. You're safe and can come out of hiding now.

That was the recap of my 11 writing days.

I hope you enjoyed this post full of snippets and other things you probably don't care about.

Are you doing Camp Nano this April? Are you in a cabin? Did you enjoy these snippets and want more?

Tell me in the comments

All about Zoey Brianna Yang! (FEAT. Zoey Brianna Yang)

Hey people! This is my first time hi-jacking Carlye's blog and it won't be my last. Some of you guys wanted to hear about me, so I decided to do just that. Without further ado, I present:

Zoey Brianna Yang!

SPOILER!!!! I'm a ninja spy and work for the government. My mission right now is hunting down a dog that could be  a mole for a burglar. Wait! I shouldn't have told you that. Tell me were you live so I can hunt you down and give a memory eraser.

Selfie! I hang out a lot with Kit because she's awesome and crazy like me. We get along good.

Me trying to down a handstand. I love doing gymnastics as a hobby and when you're a ninja spy you have to be a good gymnast.

I'm very care-free and blunt. If I don't like Julie-Ann's hair, I'll tell her. I don't believe in giving people fluff. It'll help them better if I tell straight out. And I don't really care about what's gonna happen. We don't know what the future holds, so don't plan ahead.

I don't care what people think about me, it's just a MOS. (That means a magerally opinionated statement) I shouldn't change because of what people think. I'm staying who I am and that's what you should do.

Now your mind is blown by my awesomeness.
Wait! Carlye is looking my way, gotta go. If you want to find more, go to the All My Dolls page.

You haven't seen the last of me.

Am I a better blogger then Carlye?

It's Time!

I wrote my last words down in my flimsy, yet trusty notebook.
The End.
Actually, I scrawled them down in excitement. Then I scribbled my excitement on down on the next page.
What I wanted to do was run and tell my family, but when it's one in the morning, that wasn't an option. So I settled for dancing in my bed.

I can't believe that I'm really finished all the scene outlining, character arcs, and everything in between.

It took, like, 3 or 4 months to plot and outline. But now the time has come to WRITE!!!!

I had my headphones on plugged into my MP3 player, with a playlist of 15 songs replaying over and over. I actually ended up tuning the music out, but whatever,

It was these 6 notebooks that gave me things to do when the power was out, or on the bus, or just at any random time.

That's a crumpled part of the typed up plot. Every time I finished a scene, I'd highlight what I'd finished.
At the end of the day, it was a bright colorful crumpled piece of paper.

Now, you'll get lots of noveling snippets during the writing. And I have to talk to my parents about Beta readers and Alpha readers. If you don't know what they are read this:
Beta readers: reads and writes down their suggestions after draft 1
Alpha readers: reads and writes down their suggestions while I'm writing it
So if you're interested in being one of those, comment down below. (I'll probably make a post about it later)

Funny thing, I'm always talking about my book, (it's a trilogy) but you have no idea what it's about.
I got the idea from Madi, and it's about ninja. Here's the cover and the synopsis.

When Airi Yamashita, Erin's mysterious friend goes missing, it's up to Erin to find her. Teamed up with a fellow ninja-in-training, Erin treks through the forests of Japan to find her friend. But when Ti-su- a power-hungry man- escapes prison, the stakes are even higher. Erin and Hotisi are running out of options and time is slipping trough their fingers.

Does that sound like a good book? I think it does.
There is some fighting and minor violence. (Martial arts)
There is no swearing or bad language. (I would get into trouble if there was)

That's all for today! Get ready for those long awaited snippets!

Pictures #2

It's time for more pictures! I don't have as many as last post, but yesterday I went out and took some pictures. I just couldn't help myself, it was so pretty.

This photo dates back to when it was snowing. The snowflakes were so light, I had to take pictures.

When I went to the American Girl store in Vancouver, I thought that a street scene would look cool. I was stared at, but hey, I got the shot.

I literally have no idea when this was taken. But honestly, it looks pretty cool.

Another snow shot.

I was walking down the road to the car, when I saw this awesome little park. So I broke into a run and started taking pictures. My sister held Jasmin up while my mom went to get the car.

The wind was blowing hard and right after I got this picture, she fell flat on her face. Jasmin now has some new scratches, but they add to her character.

This was the "park" that I took pictures in. I think it ended up good.

That is all for Part 2 of Pictures. Sadly for you guys, there is still part 3. I'm trying to stop myself from taking pictures so I can catch up on photos.
I have lots of ideas planned for this blog, but I love your input.
- Part 3 of Pictures
- Noveling snippets
- All about Zoey
- Behind the scenes of Trying To Trust
- Other lifestyle kind of posts

Have a great day!

Pictures #1

Welcome to round 1 of pictures! Strap yourself in for a wild ride!
I'm one of those people that love to take pictures, but never do anything with the pictures after. So, after half an hour of watermarking, I present:

Some of these pictures might be out of order. This was a random picture that I thought would look cool. I'm pleased with it, but it's kinda random.

Looks can be deceiving. It may look nice and warm and sunny outside, but believe me, it wasn't. This was taken while it was -3 outside. I was super cold, but the picture ended up good.

So here's the story, it was windy but I really wanted to get this shot. So I had the light reflector propped up against my leg, and I was trying to get a good picture while holding the doll. I ended up doing it, and then she face planted into the grass.

And this is my newest doll: Zoey Brianna Yang! She's so cute and I love taking pictures with her. Zoey is crazy and loves to have fun. She loves blasting music while 'practicing' her guitar, pulling pranks, and being wild altogether. She's open minded and ready to tell her opinion. This may sound crazy, but she looks good in pretty much everything I have, even this gross green vest.

I don't really have much to say about this picture.

I think this picture is kinda like life. You have so many places to go and you aren't sure where or what path to take.

She was balancing on a tree branch that was above the garden and pavement. I still think it looks pretty good even if Isabelle was endangered during the photo shoot.

Let's just say that laying on the rocks isn't on the top of my bucket list. But I still can cross that off.

This is also a picture that is pretty similar to the next one. I just wanted to use the green grass and blue sky.

If you look closely, you'll see that my neighbors still have the lights up. They have them there still nailed to the house as I speak.

That's all the pictures I have for you guys. But I have some posts that I'd like to do. What would you rather read?

I've Got News

You know my photo story, Trying To Trust, and how it ended really oddly in after the 3 episode. Well...
I kinda planned it wonky and there was plot holes every where. So...
I'm re-making TTT!
This does have a different plot and characters, but the parts will come out like dominoes. I'm making all the parts and then posting them. So you won't see TTT for a while. Actually, probably the first will be up March 10. I think that's enough time to shoot 10 parts.
But no promises.

Kit is my boy doll once again. But don't worry, he is wearing a hat.

I struggled to get the hat on his head. I guess AG didn't make the dolls to have all their hair squished into a small hat.

She looks a little more normal from the front view.

This is my overview of what's going to happen in the parts. This is only the character list and 3 part plots.

After I figured out what going to happen in each scene, I write out the actually thing that is normally posted. But before posting I always change some words and such.

I got a light reflector! The change in my photography is so noticeable and I'm so happy with my purchase.

The cover is suppose to be on the reflector it's self, but I was using the reflector for the sun. So, I just put the cover on my tripod instead.

This was my setup to eliminate the shadows. I had the reflector leaning against the chair, and I hooked my headphones to keep it from falling.

Are you excited for Trying To Trust? Have you ever started a project and re-did it all?

The First Sunny Day +Snippets

You knew you couldn't escape my snippets and I'm back with more.

It was a normal Sunday when I woke up. Went to church and when I came out, I was instantly bathed in sunlight. And being the novelist I am, I took advantage of the sun.
Out came Carlye! Armed with headphones, music, water, and her trust notebook. And for the added touch, she wore flipflops with her jeans.

I'm looking so intently at my paper in this. By the way, I have no idea way my neighbors still have Christmas lights hanging up.

I was on scene #16. Throughout that day, I had outlined up to scene #20. My goal is to finish outlining all my scenes, typed up and edited for historical problems. Then I need to finish writing and typing up my character bios. Hopefully I'll finish that before the month ends. I see sleep loss in the future.

My water was needed. A lot. It wasn't that warm, but it was hot sitting in the sun for a long time. But then it got really windy and I ended going inside.

Decision: Erin sets her jaw, rolls back her shoulder, and... says nothing.
That's my little Erin, a hard nut to crack.
Ti-su, (My antagonist) threatens Erin and yells at her, but Erin still doesn't say a peep.

This was a picture that my older sister took of me. It was really sunny and shining right into my eyes, that's why I'm squinting.

This was a picture that my sister took for me. It was part of a mini photo shoot that I took in the sun.

And of course, every great day outside has to end. I finished all the scenes I wanted to get done inside the warmth of my home.

That is all I have for today.
Actually right now there is snow on the ground, which I dislike greatly because I had a scene to film outside but I can't do until the snow clears up.

Dreams (photo shoot)

It's been a while since I uploaded actual American Girl photography. I took these pictures a while back and never got around to posting them. But I don't have any pictures of Tammy, so this is the unveiling of Tammy's first photo shoot. The reason the lighting is so good, is because I used the flashlight mode on a phone and a white paper on my clipboard. The light from the phone bounced off the white paper and added the light I needed. It's all about innovation.

This is the overview of the room I made. The twinkle lights used to light up the dollhouse until I bought new lights. They added  extra light and looked super cute with the room.

This was super hard to pose because the dog kept falling over when I got it into position. Also the phone would fall over just as I took the picture. I eventually got my little sister to hold the phone for me as I took the picture.

The photo ended up crooked, but I liked the effect. The dog is smiling at the camera and it looks so cute.

This one looked kinda dreaming, so that's where the name came from.

This was supposed to look like a lifestyle picture. I think I captured that, but whatever. Now looking at the pictures, the lamp looks out of place. I can't really do much about it now.

Behind the scenes of the picture: I had to wrangle my sister into letting me use her dog. (The same one that held the phone) When I finally got the dog, the fur was sticking out all weirdly and it took some 'combing' to fix the fur. But I'm pleased with the results of this.

The new official picture of Tammy for the All About My Dolls page. In a photo shoot one must always have a close-up.

This picture resembles the loving relationship between doll and dog. If you look closely, Tammy's feet are in an awkward position. That's because I have fluffyish carpet and Tammy is pretty old. But all in all, this ended out great.

And that brings the close to Tammy's first official photo shoot. I hope you enjoyed this post and comment down below which picture you like the best. #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7, or #8.
Have a great day,

Carlye
